My event is outside, will my balloons be ok?

Texas weather can definitely have a big impact on the lifespan and appearance of balloons. The combination of high heat, humidity, and sometimes strong winds can cause issues, especially for outdoor events. Here’s how the weather in Texas can affect balloons:

1. Heat:

Latex Balloons: In high heat (especially in the summer), latex balloons tend to expand because the air inside them heats up and increases in volume. This can cause them to pop more easily. Direct exposure to sunlight can also cause them to fade in color or weaken over time.

Foil Balloons: Foil balloons can also expand in the heat, leading to warping or popping. They are slightly more resilient to heat, but if they’re filled with helium, the gas expands, and they may float away or lose buoyancy quickly.

2. Humidity:

Latex Balloons: High humidity can make latex balloons feel "sticky," and they might clump together or have a dewy appearance, which affects their overall look. Humid weather can also cause latex balloons to deteriorate faster.

Foil Balloons: Foil balloons are less impacted by humidity, but the excess moisture in the air could cause them to look a bit foggy or lose their shine.

3. Wind:

Wind can be a huge factor in Texas, especially in more open areas or during storms. Balloons can fly away, pop, or get damaged if they're not securely anchored. Even if the garland is well attached, strong gusts can cause it to sway, stretch, or lose shape.

Tips for Balloon Events in Texas:

  • If you're using balloons outdoors, try to keep them shaded as much as possible to prevent them from popping or fading.
  • For more durability, air-filled balloons last much longer than helium-filled ones, especially in the Texas heat.
  • If you're having an outdoor event and want balloons to stay anchored, make sure they’re weighted properly.
  • If it's over 90°F (32°C), balloons may not last long outdoors.
